10 Years Together
Ten years ago, City Church didn’t exist. A small group of people had a conviction, a city, and not much else. What they built — slowly, imperfectly, through loss and growth and more than a few moments of wondering what came next — is the church that sits at 522 Sevier Ave.
In this two-week series, we’re doing something every healthy community needs to do occasionally: We’re stopping to look at where we’ve been, and where we’re headed. Not out of nostalgia, but out of the conviction that the God who has been faithful to us in the last ten years is the same God who will lead us into the next ten. And that remembering what he has done is one of the most honest ways we can prepare for what he’s about to do.
Week one, we look back — with gratitude and honesty. Week two, we look forward — at who we’re becoming, who we’re building for, and what it will take to get there.
Because the past isn’t a place to return to. It’s a foundation to build on.
