The Book of Strange New Things: Entering the World of the Bible

The Bible is an incredible, strange, illuminating, terrifying, life-changing, and disorienting sort of book. It starts with a talking snake who convinces two humans to eat from a magical tree; and it ends with a bedazzled city floating down out of the sky. And in the pages in between, there exists story after story that seem anywhere from familiar to bizarre.

So how should we approach such a book? What does it look like to enter the world of the Bible, on its own terms? And how might that help us understand God and ourselves a little better as a result?

This series takes five weeks to explore what the Bible is, and how to read it well.
