Christmas Initiative
A simple way to help the community directly around City Church.
Since City Church is uniquely situated just two blocks away from South Knox Elementary, we went to them and asked, “How can we help?” Below you’ll find a breakdown of tangible, easy ways we can be a family on mission to families who are waiting to be seen, cared for and loved. Whether you pick one or both options – we’re grateful for the way this church chooses to actively and generously meet the needs of those around us.
Toiletries
Some South Knox students find themselves without access to basic hygiene items. So beginning November 23, we’ll have toiletry bags with a small list of needs tucked inside. You’re invited to take a bag and pack it with the travel-sized products listed. Our goal is to provide 50 bags for boys and 50 bags for girls. Click below to see what we want to include in each bag. Return filled bags to the front lobby by December 21.
Headphones
With the integration of laptop use, the students are asked to bring headphones to use daily as they work through their assignments. Many K-2nd graders are unable to provide their own headphones. We have an opportunity to equip the school with 100 pairs of headphones to be distributed among the students who need them most.
