As we step into our second decade, we are asking a simple question: “How can we faithfully care for the people God is continuing to bring?”

Built Together is our answer.

We want to invest in the spaces, leaders and outreach needed for the next decade of City Church.

Three Ways We’re Building Together

Why Now?

❋ Leadership

As our church grows, we want people to be more deeply known, not less. We don’t ever want to become a place where people slip through the cracks. This helps us grow without losing care.

❋ Facilities

We are making room for people to be welcomed, formed, cared for and sent. Hospitality is not abstract. It takes physical form. Rooms, tables, chairs, classrooms, gathering spaces, and safe environments all become tools to welcome people in.

Ten years ago, 25 people moved to Knoxville because they believed God was forming a church. They came together to build something together marked by deep relationships and a shared mission: To create a place to belong, a place full of people who feel like family.

We see it in college students finding community away from home. In young professionals finding roots in seasons of transition. In young families being cared for, welcomed and discipled. In empty-nesters inviting their families into a fresh start.

The intention wasn’t to begin another service – it was to build a people.

And a decade later, we are still being built together.

We are not just building for ourselves. We are building for the good of the kingdom. Mission moves outward: to neighbors, church plants, vulnerable communities, global partners, and people who may never attend City Church.

Together, we pause to consider our goals, hopes, and direction. This is about aligning with ourselves and with the journey ahead. This is a chance to reconnect with what brought you here—your questions, your hopes, your turning points—and consider how they’ve shifted or deepened.

How It Works

  • Browse our upcoming events to find the one that feels right for you. We host events year-round in all different locations and climates.

  • Sign up and pay all required fees to reserve your spot. If plans change, you can cancel up to 14 days before the retreat start to receive a 50% refund.

  • After booking, we'll send you a Welcome Packet with everything you need to know—detailed schedules, packing list recommendations, add-ons to consider, and more.

  • We'd recommend booking your transportation to and from the event as soon as possible, to ensure you can arrive without any complications or delays.
